Hello! It’s great to meet you!

A passionate advocate for education, Erin Healey, MA, is an Education Specialist focused in Secondary Education Reform on the Rhode Island Department of Education's Reimagining High School team. With a background teaching English at both charter and public high schools across Rhode Island, as well as a leadership position as a school-based Instructional Systems Coach, Erin's career has been focused on equitable access to rigorous and high quality educational experiences both in the classroom and at the school systems level. She is excited to bring that experience to the state of Rhode Island, working on progressive innovations at every level of the public education ecosystem.

Creativity plays a key role in every aspect of Erin's personal and professional life. In addition to her work at RIDE, she continues to teach multiple classes each semester as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Rhode Island's College of Education. She is an avid musical performer, playing trumpet in the nation's oldest civilian concert band, The American Band, as well as SheBop Swing Orchestra; one of the few all-female and non-binary jazz orchestras, Erin is thrilled to be part of an ensemble that aims be a catalyst for change within the jazz industry, where gender equality is celebrated and diversity is embraced. In her free time, she shares her adventures around Southern New England with her young son through photography, travel guides, and micro-tourism consulting.
